Innovation runs in the Gallo family's blood. Since its founding in 1933, just after Prohibition in America, the winery has been evolving. Gallo was founded by Ernest and Julio Gallo, two Italian immigrants. They originally came to California for different reasons. However, they remain Italians: winemaking runs in their blood. They established a small winery just east of San Francisco. From day one, the company was growing. Ultimately, the result was impressive: Gallo can now call itself the largest winery still owned by the same family.

The Discovery of White Zinfandel

White Zinfandel is a unique term for rosé. The translation, "white Zinfandel," suggests it's a white variety of red grape. However, it's a successful rosé, one of the best-selling wines since the 1970s. Several wineries produce this wine, primarily because rosés made from the Zinfandel grape are a huge success, including those from Gallo Family Vineyards. The Gallo Family version also contains slightly less alcohol, so you can enjoy it without worry!
