The sparkling wines of Follador

The Follador family has been involved in winemaking since 1769. Gianfranco Follador, a descendant of Giovanni, was responsible for the winery's transition to sparkling wines in 1970. As one of the original families in the Valdobbiadene region to move to the sparkling wine region, Gianfranco, along with his wife, Italia, have continued a tradition of quality, passion, and excellent wine production. Follador's Prosecco lines are the hallmark of great sparkling wines. With small, persistent bubbles, a full flavor, and a fine, dry finish, they are the result of superior winemaking skills passed down for over two centuries. They adhere to their traditions, but are not stuck in the past. They utilize traditional vineyard cultivation methods, yet incorporate the latest production techniques. This Prosecco from Veneto is a rising star among sparkling wines. Prosecco is the name of the wine and the grape from which this Vino Frizzante is made. Vino Frizzante indicates that the wine has soft bubbles and is not as fizzy as vino spumante. The mousse is created using the Charmat or Cuve Close method. The base wine, along with the so-called tirage, is then placed in a closed tank for several days where the fine bubbles develop.
