Although the Vermentino grape is primarily found in western Italy, it also thrives in Sicily. The vineyards are located on the coast, an ideal location for this white grape variety. It thrives in a sea breeze, imparting a slightly salty note. It is primarily an aromatic wine with a refreshing flavor and a pleasant bitterness.

The success of Feudo Arancio

Founded in 1904, Feudo Arancia is located on the sun-drenched island of Sicily. The winery's name refers to the nearby Lago Arancio. Today, the winery is part of Mezzacorona, one of Italy's largest wineries. Acquired in 2001, it was in poor condition. The vineyards and winery were completely rebuilt. This allowed the winery to climb out of the doldrums and produce successful wines today. The grapes, along with the soil structure and microclimate, are meticulously examined. Only when these are perfectly matched and also proven to be ideal for the grape variety are the vines planted. The Vermentino grapes are planted in nutrient-rich clay soil, allowing them to develop a beautiful character. Thanks to careful care, optimally ripe grapes are produced around September. These are carefully harvested and transported almost immediately to the winery, where state-of-the-art production methods are used.

Wonderfully aromatic with distinct notes of fennel, chamomile, and a hint of eucalyptus. The palate is pleasantly fresh, yet full and rich, with lovely concentration. Thanks to the vineyards' location, this Vermentino has a pleasant bitterness and a slightly salty character. This adds complexity to the white wine and gives it a clean finish. It's perfect as an aperitif on a beautiful summer day, but also pairs well with pasta or shellfish.
