Okay, the label is really ugly, but this is incredibly good value for money. Tasted blind, I would have estimated it to be twice as expensive. Creamy, buttery white, not too heavy and not too spicy either (which you often find in US Chardonnay).

A divine wine—literally! EOS Chardonnay California is named after the Greek goddess of the dawn. Each day, Eos ensured that the night ended and the sun could shine. This is also evident in the vineyards, as winemakers see magnificent vineyards every time the sun rises.

The Californian wines of EOS

EOS is a winery that owns several vineyards. These vineyards are located in a variety of beautiful and prominent California wine regions, such as Sonoma County, Lake County, and the Central Coast. EOS is not committed to any wine region, which again evokes a comparison with the goddess Eos, as she, too, was not committed to a man and had many lovers—both divine and mortal. But enough about Greek mythology, because however beautiful the numerous references may be, this is a California wine of the highest caliber. The reason the winemakers select multiple vineyards is because they want to use only the very finest bunches of grapes. So, one year there might be more Sonoma grapes, while another year the focus is more on the Central Valley—depending on where the grapes are at their finest.
