Vintage Report
The 2023 vintage for white wines from the Loire Valley is rated as outstanding with a score of 95 points on the Robert Parker scale. This indicates a harvest of exceptional quality with great aromatic expression and balance.
The old vines for this refreshing Sauvignon Blanc are planted in gravel and loam soil. At peak ripeness, only the very best grapes are harvested and pressed in the modern winery. Domaine d'Avrille's Sauvignon Blanc is a dry white wine with rich aromas and a long, lingering palate. It's supple with a hint of freshness.
A lively Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire
For three generations, Eusebius Biotteau has passed on his knowledge and love of wine to his sons and grandsons. The vineyards and wine production remain family-owned and operated to this day. The Loire Valley is the region between Nantes and Orléans. It is located in northwestern France, south of Paris, north of Bordeaux, and bordered to the east by the Burgundy region. It encompasses the area traversed by the Loire River, the longest river in France. The Loire creates a region with a privileged wine-making climate and terroirs along the banks of this UNESCO-listed river. Nestled in the heart of the Loire Valley vineyards, the family strives to produce wines that capture the beauty of this charming landscape. The green aromas of Domaine d'Avrille Sauvignon Blanc
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are harvested at peak ripeness and pressed immediately upon arrival in the cellar. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 16 to 17 degrees Celsius. The wine is then left to mature on its fine lees to give it complexity. The Sauvignon Blanc appears pale yellow in the glass with light green reflections on the rim. The green aromas of broom and boxwood immediately greet you. The lively palate reveals typical Sauvignon flavors such as broom and blackcurrant. The attack is open with a powerful finish. Perfect with fish, shellfish, and goat cheese.Product details
