The Kleine Schorre Schouwen Duiveland Blanc is made entirely from the Auxerrois grape variety. A French grape that's slightly fuller and less acidic than Pinot Blanc. What a delight! This De Kleine Schorre from Schouwen Duiveland, Zeeland, is one of the finest wines in the Netherlands!

Dutch wines from the Kleine Schorre

The Netherlands is rapidly emerging as a wine-producing country, but hasn't yet been noticed by the rest of Europe. This is partly due to the low export volume. We primarily drink Dutch wines in the Netherlands itself. The De Kleine Schorre winery is located in Dreischor, Zeeland. Zeeland is the sunniest province in the Netherlands and also boasts good connections to the North Sea and chalky soils. The perfect ingredients for winemaking! The De Kleine Schorre adventure began in 2001. In collaboration with the renowned Luxembourg winery Cep d'Or, they succeeded in establishing a winery that surprises with its strong wines. Because the Auxerrois grape doesn't ripen too late, it's ideal for the Zeeland climate. It combines good acidity with a lovely, powerful, and spicy flavor. The Kleine Schorre vineyard has a subsoil consisting of a shell bed, allowing any rain to quickly wash away. The sun, in turn, is very beneficial for ripening the grapes and reducing disease pressure. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks until the wine has a pleasant freshness and is perfectly balanced.

Enjoy an enchanting Duiveland Blanc

This variant is truly inspiring, with aromas of apples, pears, and a swarm of citrus fruit complemented by light green herbs. The palate is enchanting, full, and aromatic with nuances of white fruit and lime. A touch of spice and gooseberry on the back of the tongue. The Duiveland Blanc pairs well with a snack platter or antipasti. But as we might expect from a wine from Zeeland, it's also delicious with pan-fried sole or mussels.
