Over the past 10 years, significant investment has been made in the Cres Ricards vineyards. In 2010, there were still 28 hectares of vines. Currently, the vineyards comprise a whopping 39 hectares of white grape varieties. Situated at the foot of Mont Baudile, in a terroir of slate and gravel, the vineyards are in excellent condition. Combined with the sunny days and the cool nights from the Mediterranean Sea, the grapes grow almost perfectly in these plots. As soon as the grapes are deemed ripe enough, the harvest begins. The grapes for Esprit de Cres Ricards Marsanne Roussanne are harvested by hand. This prevents bruising and oxidation, which in turn has a positive effect on the wine.
After the harvest, the grapes are vinified at the Cres Ricards winery. After fermentation, the wine is allowed to age. Fifteen percent of Esprit de Cres Ricards Marsanne Roussanne is aged in French oak barrels. The remaining 85% is aged in stainless steel. This combination gives this white wine its exciting vibe.
