Priorat is traditionally dry, barren, and resource-poor. A bone-dry region where, at first glance, viticulture seemed impossible. However, several local winegrowers decided to invest in their vineyards, and combined with modern techniques, viticulture suddenly became quite feasible. Thanks to the challenging conditions within the Priorat, the wines have a distinct character. Originally, the area was primarily planted with red grape varieties, but some true daredevils decided to give white varieties a try—Celler Bartolome being one of them.
Clos Bartolome Blanc Priorat is a fine blend of 45% Grenache and 55% Macabeo. Despite the recent discovery of Priorat wines, the vines are sometimes up to 70 years old, a remarkably long age. This emphasizes Clos Bartolome's experience in the Priorat region. Clos Bartolome Blanc Priorat is a fine wine that any wine lover will delight in. A floral character combines with white peach, soft herbs, and a hint of fennel. The Grenache Blanc has clearly left its mark on Clos Bartolome Blanc Priorat.
