The two main components originate from different parts of Argentina.
- Sparkling wine from Argentina: The base is made from Argentine sparkling wine, stemming from the expertise CHANDON has built in the country since 1959.
- Valencia oranges from Tucumán: The aromatic oranges grow on a family farm in Tucumán, in northwestern Argentina. The bittersweet peels are primarily used for the orange macerate.
- Circular use: The juice from the oranges is shared with local institutions. Remaining plant material is composted and returned to the vineyards.
Winemaking and mixology come together here in one fully pre-mixed spritz.
- Orange macerate: The peels of Valencia oranges are slowly and carefully macerated in grape distillate, allowing their fresh citrus aromas and characteristic bitterness to be extracted.
- Herbs & spices: A sophisticated combination of botanicals and spices, including cardamom, star anise, and gentian, provides aromatic layering and a spicy-bitter tension.
- Assemblage: The orange and spice macerate is blended with the sparkling wine and then bottled. This ensures the ratio is already perfectly balanced, so no mixing is required at home.
- Alcohol content: At 11.5% alcohol, the spritz retains sufficient wine structure and intensity alongside ice, citrus, and the distinct botanicals.
The sparkling wine base consists of 3 grape varieties, each with a clear function within the blend.
- Chardonnay – Argentina: Chardonnay brings freshness, tension, and an elegant citrus-driven foundation.
- Pinot Noir – Argentina: Pinot Noir gives the sparkling wine extra structure and depth.
- Sémillon – Argentina: Sémillon adds roundness and aromatic complexity, beautifully balancing the bitterness of the orange and botanicals.
