Our Review

Recently tasted for the first time. I didn't know the wine, but blindly guessed its price at around 20 Euros. I found it incredibly unctuous, round, and smooth for the money. The acidity is really very pleasant, nothing too biting. It can easily serve as more than just a patio rosé.

Description

Château Cavalier Cuvée Marafiance Rosé 2024, Côtes de Provence, France

The Château Cavalier Cuvée Marafiance Rosé 2024 comes from the heart of the Côtes de Provence, showcasing why this region is world-renowned for rosé. What makes Provence rosé so recognizable? The combination of a warm Mediterranean climate and cooling influences results in wines with finesse, freshness, and a light, elegant color.

This rosé is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah, three grapes that work perfectly together for balance and elegance. Supplemented with a small amount of Ugni Blanc, Mourvèdre, and Clairette Blanche.

Origin: Côtes de Provence

The vineyards are located in Provence, one of France's most important rosé regions.

  • Mediterranean climate: many hours of sunshine for optimal ripening.

  • Cooling Mistral wind: keeps the grapes healthy and fresh.

  • Varied soils: contribute to complexity and structure.

These conditions result in rosé with refinement and a distinct character.

Grapes and winemaking

Cinsault – Provence
Known for its light structure and finesse, essential for elegant rosé.

Grenache – Provence
Provides ripe fruit and roundness in the wine.

Syrah – Provence
Adds structure and light spice.

Winemaking is done by direct pressing of the grapes, followed by low-temperature fermentation to preserve freshness and aromatic precision.

Character and style

In the glass, this rosé shows a clear, light salmon pink color. The wine is known for aromas of red fruit and subtle floral notes. The style is fresh, elegant, and approachable, with a beautiful balance between fruit and structure.

Serve well chilled at around 8–10 °C to best experience its freshness.
