Description

What began as a dream has been kept alive for over 200 years. For hundreds of years, we have been able to enjoy Carte Vieja's Chilean wines. Their vision has been passed down through generations, perfectly embodying the essence of a love for wine. This Chardonnay is a prime example. This fruity white wine has a fresh flavor that is beautifully balanced with an excellent acidity.

Unique vineyards of Carta Vieja

Production is entirely in the hands of the Carta Vieja family business. The winery was founded in 1825 but only began marketing its own wines in 1985. Before that, they supplied their grapes to other leading Chilean wineries. Today, the seventh generation is at the helm. Alberto del Pedregal manages the more than 1,200 hectares of vineyards and the associated modern winery. Valle del Loncomilla is one of the del Pedregal family's oldest estates. It is located on the east bank of the Loncomilla River. The temperate climate allows the grapes to develop distinctive aromas. There are two types of soil, with the Chardonnay vines planted in loamy-sand soil. Towards the end of February, the Chardonnay grapes are carefully harvested. A cold maceration lasts about eight hours. After this, the grapes are fermented at a controlled temperature. After a few months, the wine is ready to be bottled, and it's time to enjoy this fruity Chardonnay.

The aroma and taste of Carta Vieja Chardonnay

This Chardonnay emerges in the glass with a bright yellow color. Its greenish reflections make it an attractive white wine. The aroma offers pleasant notes of melon, pineapple, and apricot, blended with delicate mandarin notes. The palate is full-bodied with fresh, full-bodied fruit tones. Pear, banana, and apricot flavors are beautifully pronounced, and it stands out with an excellent acidity balance. Perfect with light meat and fish dishes, but also with a delicious pasta dish.
