Boutinot, a major wine producer, was founded in 1980 by Paul Boutinot. Frustrated with the quality of wines in the United Kingdom, he decided to take matters into his own hands. Today, the winery exports to 40 countries. At its home base in the Southern Rhône, the winery owns seven vineyards planted with classic Southern Rhône varietals. These grapes reflect the local terroir beautifully, and the quality is exceptionally high. They produce wines that are relevant and interesting, never disappointing. A major player, in other words, with great wines. Each grape variety is harvested separately in the cool early morning. The grapes are then transported to the winery for a gentle pressing. The juice is fermented at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks. The juice is then combined, and a quarter of the wine is aged for six months in French oak barrels.
