Bedoba Rosé Kakheti Company Wine of Georgia 2025 is a Georgian rosé made from 100% Saperavi, an indigenous grape normally known for deep-colored red wines. This is precisely what makes this rosé remarkable: only free-run juice is used, allowing the wine to maintain its freshness without picking up too much color or tannin from the skins. With cold fermentation in stainless steel, partial malolactic fermentation, and a small portion of new French oak, Bedoba Rosé combines vibrant red fruit with a fine texture and a serious, sophisticated structure.
Bedoba Rosé comes from Kakheti, the historic heart of Georgian viticulture.
Location / Origin: The vineyards are located in Kakheti, in eastern Georgia, where the Alazani Valley at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains forms an important wine landscape.
Climate & Influences: Warm days and cool nights help the Saperavi to fully ripen, while the nocturnal cooling supports freshness and aromatic precision.
Soil: Bedoba works with deep black slate soils formed from ancient riverbeds. These soils retain little water, causing the vines to root more deeply and produce more concentrated fruit.
Vineyard & Harvest: The grapes are harvested entirely by hand during the cool early morning hours and taken directly to the press. This helps to preserve the freshness of the fruit from the very first moment.
Vinification is focused on producing a rosé with freshness, precision, and extra depth.
Harvest & Selection: Only free-run juice is used. What is free-run juice? It is the juice that flows naturally from the grapes before heavy pressing, meaning the wine picks up less color and tannin from the skins.
Fermentation: Cold fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. This approach keeps the fruit expression pure and preserves the fresh, aromatic side of Saperavi.
Malolactic fermentation: About half of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. This softens the acidity and gives the rosé a rounder, finer texture without losing its vibrant character.
Maturation / Oak aging: A small portion of the wine matures in new French oak barrels. This adds subtle extra structure, complexity, and breadth, while the rosé remains fresh and fruit-driven.
This Georgian rosé is made entirely from Saperavi.
100% Saperavi – Kakheti: Saperavi gives this rosé its bright red fruit expression, spicy undertone, and striking structure. For a rosé, this grape provides more depth and tension than many lighter-colored rosé grapes.
