The Azienda Agricola Alturis winery belongs to the Zorzettig brothers. And they're a well-known family in the wine world. For years, the Zorzettig family has been crafting some of the finest wines worldwide. Marco and Massimo Zorzettig, heirs of the family, currently produce the wines for Azienda Agricola Alturis in the northern tip of Italy. Specifically, in Cividale del Friuli, which lies on the border with Austria and Slovenia. The winery takes its name from the beautiful Friuli hills, known as "Altùris" ​​in their native language. Over the years, the winery has been considered pioneers of the North, as crafting new and eccentric wines is simply in their blood.

This white wine from Alturis in the Friuli region was given its name after its first vinification. Immediately after the first tasting, the brothers exclaimed "Nice Wine." And they're absolutely right. For this wine, only Chardonnay grapes are grown on the winery's oldest vines. The climate is cool for the bunches thanks to the strong winds from the Julian Alps. This allows for a very long aging process, giving the Chardonnay bunches ample time to develop their full strength. And they succeed; the entire harvest is harvested by hand and rigorously selected. After aging on the lees, this Alturis Friuli Nice Wine undergoes extensive wood aging. French oak barrels are used, some of which are new and unused. This allows the aromas and flavors of the oak barrels to be more pronounced.

Upon opening the bottle, we immediately smelled oak notes and hints of pickled yellow fruit. Delicious, and this is further confirmed by the wine's color. It is golden yellow and develops a beautiful, thick structure in the glass. It smells of fruity nuances of apricots, peaches, and apples, with hints of spice and vanilla. The oak barrel is also clearly noticeable in the aroma, and it also imparts a touch of fresh yellow cream. On the palate, this Alturis Friuli Nice Wine is very full and creamy; the thick structure clings to the palate and offers flavors of tropical fruit, vanilla, and cedar. The ripe fruit lingers until the last sip, and with this, a new hero has truly been born in Friuli!
