Description
Allendorf Riesling Trocken VDP Gutswein, Rheingau, Germany
Allendorf Riesling Trocken VDP Gutswein is the hallmark of Weingut Allendorf and demonstrates the tautness and minerality of a Rheingau Riesling. What does VDP Gutswein mean? This is the basic classification within the VDP structure, where the wine comes from the estate's own vineyards and meets strict quality guidelines. This dry Riesling combines crisp acidity with ripe fruit and forms the solid foundation of the house's range.
With 12.15% alcohol and a distinctly fresh style, this wine positions itself as a classic, dry Rheingau Riesling.

Riesling is known for its high natural acidity and aromatic precision, which provides freshness, minerality and ageing potential.
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
In the glass, this Riesling displays a bright, light yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose opens with Granny Smith apple, peach, and grapefruit, complemented by subtle mineral notes. On the palate, the wine is crisp and fresh with a clear citrus structure and ripe stone fruit. The structure is slender yet energetic, with lively acidity that creates tension. The finish is soft yet fresh, with a clean, minerally length.
-
Serving temperature: Serve at around 8–10 °C to allow the fresh acidity and mineral tension to develop to their full potential.
-
Dishes: Combines perfectly with salads with a fresh dressing, stir-fries with shrimp, steamed fish or classic flammkuchen.
