Our Wente Riverbank Riesling, for example, is a blend of 80 percent Riesling and 10 percent Gewürztraminer grapes, creating a captivating bouquet of honey, lychee, and floral notes. Wente Family Estates' recognition as the oldest continuously managed family estate in the United States fills us with pride. Our vineyards stretch from Livermore Valley to San Francisco Bay and Arroyo Seco, Monterey. Our commitment to sustainability was emphasized when we received the "Certified California Sustainable Vineyard and Winery" distinction in 2010, and our passion was recognized when we were named "American Winery of the Year" in 2011.
Considering the quality and care invested in every step of our winemaking process, it's no surprise that the Wente Riverbank Riesling is a top-quality wine. After cold fermentation, we spend eight months aging this Riesling in our stainless steel tanks. This allows the Wente Riverbank Riesling to unfold a rich aromatic palette: from floral notes of jasmine to fruity essences of mandarin and Nashi pear.
