The beginning of the Von Winning winery

The Von Winning winery was founded in 1849 and is named after Captain Leopold Von Winning. Since then, unique wines have been produced in these cellars. The winery is located in Palatinate, a region nestled between the Rhine, the Haardt Mountains, and the Palatinate Forest. The region is bordered by mountains and forests, which protect it from rain and westerly winds. With abundant sunshine, Palatinate is one of Germany's warmest wine regions, resulting in a unique growing process. It's no wonder this wine region earned the nickname "Germany's Burgundy." Von Winning's vineyards consist of several small vineyards. Each vineyard approaches the Riesling grape differently. The Villa Niederberger vineyard is located in Neustadt, northeast of Deidesheim. It's slightly cooler there. This, combined with the weathered sandstone terroir, creates a unique growing process, resulting in distinct aromas in these Villa Niederberger Riesling grapes. The fermentation in stainless steel is also unique, which enhances the pure power of these grapes.
