The grapes come from two classic Riesling vineyards in the Rheinhessen region: Nierstein 'Roter Hang' and Oppenheim. The Nierstein vineyard features red slate soil, while Oppenheim has calcareous loam. The grapes are hand-picked, allowing for rigorous selection. This ensures that only the finest juice reaches the bottle.

The Guntrum family has been producing wine since 1648. Since 1923, they have owned the site on Rheinallee. Their vineyards are situated in the most beautiful locations in the area, where they grow only traditional grape varieties. This Riesling, a creative blend, comes from the vineyards in Nierstein on the famous Roten Hang and in Oppenheim. The family likes to honor their own philosophy of operation. They use only the best grapes from the best vineyards to create the finest wine. And this Dry Riesling is a beautiful example of that. After the manual harvest, a rigorous selection process follows, after which the grapes are gently pressed. The juice is then fermented at a controlled temperature of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in stainless steel tanks. After this, the wine remains on the lees to mature further. This softens the wine and adds complexity.
