Anyone who loves Gruner Veltliner has only one answer: Austrian wines. Gruner Veltliner reigns supreme in the vineyards of this Alpine country. This is also true for the Birgit Eichinger winery. Relatively small and unknown, but with remarkable achievements. Founded in 1992 by Birgit Eichinger, the estate now boasts a total acreage of a good 15 hectares. While not a large area, it does represent some of the finest and best vineyards you'll find in Kamptal.
The Gruner Veltliner grapes for this wine are grown on a tiny vineyard located on the Heiligenstein mountain. Facing southeast, they offer the very best conditions. The terroir here is also incredibly special, with a unique geology of sandstone, volcanic rock, and also loam and loess. This unique composition creates a very distinctive Gruner Veltliner grape. With this Birgit Eichinger Gruner Veltliner Ried Lamm, the winemaker proves she belongs among the absolute top performers in the Kamptal wine region; something Birgit Eichinger has always aspired to.
