2021 was een uitstekend oogstjaar voor witte wijnen in Centraal- en Zuid-Italië, met ideale omstandigheden die resulteerden in wijnen met goede zuren en aromatische expressie. De wijnen van dit jaar worden gekenmerkt door hun frisheid en balans.

In Italy, perpetually sunny, we find many indigenous grape varieties. Trebbiano, for example, is responsible for many quality wines from this sun-drenched region. Talamonti places great value on history, which is why many of its names are linked to the rich history of the Abruzzo region. This Aternum, for example, is particularly aromatic and vibrant, despite its history.

The perfect climate for the Trebbiano grape

The Talamonti winery established itself in 2001 in the town of Loreto Aprutino. It is a renowned and modern winery, where the entire process, from grape to bottle, is meticulously monitored. The name of this wine refers to the first inhabitants of this area, who founded their village near the Aternum River. This demonstrates Talamonti's strong commitment to connecting its wine to the region. This is reflected in the name and the grapes used. Sustainability is also a top priority, and the wines are produced with great respect for nature. This naturally ensures that the wines are pure, clean, and above all, flavorful. The Trebbiano grapes are planted on stony, limestone soil. At an altitude of 300 meters, the grapes enjoy a perfect climate thanks to the necessary cooling at night. This climate allows the grapes to develop sufficient acidity and aromas. The vinification process is also crucial for the desired result. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, ensuring they are optimally ripe. In the winery, they are destemmed and cold macerated. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and lasts approximately 12 days. The wine is aged partly in French oak barrels and partly in stainless steel. The aging process lasts seven months. But we assure you, the long wait is worth it.

What does Talamonti Aternum Trebbiano taste like?

In the glass, the Aternum presents itself with a bright straw yellow color. The aromas are released upon pouring. We note apple and fresh citrus notes, complemented by a hint of vanilla and spice thanks to the oak aging. The palate is lively and rounded with a long, pleasant finish.
