Vintage Report
We don't often encounter a white Côtes du Rhône, but the Quiot family makes no fewer than three! All three wines are made from a single grape variety: Marsanne, Roussane, and in this case, Viognier. The result is an aromatic wine with abundant fruit and a slightly spicy flavor. Give this Viognier from Château du Trignon a try, and you'll be amazed!
Special soil structure for Chateau du Trignon Viognier
For over a century, Château du Triignon has been one of the most respected wine estates in the southern Rhône Valley. With significant holdings in Gigondas, Rasteau, Sablet, and other prominent Côtes-du-Rhône regions, five successive generations of the Roux family have firmly established Château du Trignon as a premier producer of powerful, structured red wines. And since the Quiot family's 2007 acquisition of Domaine du Vieux Lazaret and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château du Trignon has become equally adept at producing captivating white wines. Viognier is a difficult grape to grow and a challenging wine to make, but in the hands of an expert winemaker, there's no better white wine. Fortunately, Jerome Quiot and the team at Château du Trignon know how to handle Viognier. Planted on soils of pebbles, gravel, and limestone, the Viognier grapes exude extraordinarily beautiful aromas. Harvested very early in the morning to preserve its freshness, the grapes are carefully selected at the winery to ensure only the finest grapes are pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, and after a period of rest, the wine is bottled.Enjoy the fresh and light Viognier from Quiot
The Château du Trignon Viognier has a soft yellow color and a beautiful nose with aromas of anise, white peach, apricot, and yellow apple. The flavors glide along with a hint of fennel, adding freshness and balance to the finish. While many Viogniers can be quite heavy, this wine exhibits a lightness that makes it quite refreshing. Delicious with a risotto or simply enjoyed on its own.Product details
