Compared to established countries, New Zealand winemaking is still in its infancy. It wasn't until the mid-1980s that wines from New Zealand vineyards were discovered worldwide. This is thanks to several wineries, but it was primarily Hunters that played a pioneering role. The winery is named after Jane and Ernie Hunter, who released their first vintage in 1983. In 1984, they were one of the first New Zealand wineries to achieve commercial success in Europe.

The Hunters Sauvignon Blanc Vineyards

After the death of her husband, Ernie, Jane Hunter's decided to make the company her life's work. This was to honor her late husband. Hunter's vineyards are located in the heart of New Zealand's wine region: Marlborough. This region, situated on New Zealand's South Island, is known worldwide for its vibrant, crisp Sauvignon Blanc. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes for Hunter's Sauvignon Blanc are grown in the Wairau Valley, a renowned area in Marlborough. With well-known neighbors like Cloudy Bay, Saint Clair, and Villa Maria, Hunter's vineyards are in good company.

The smell and taste of Hunters Sauvignon Blanc

A New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc of excellent quality. This is partly due to the years of experience of the Hunters winery. It is a well-balanced glass where fruitiness and acidity are perfectly balanced. But first and foremost, we are very impressed by the expressive aroma. Your nose is delighted by the bouquet of Hunters Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough. You smell distinct passion fruit, green apple, fresh lime, and delicate gooseberries. We were delighted. The fresh style continues to develop on the taste buds. A rich bouquet of passion fruit, apple, and melon blends perfectly with the refined acidity of this Hunters Sauvignon Blanc.
