In Rufina, Chianti, lies the small winery Renzo Masi. It was founded by Renzo Masi in the 1930s. Grandson Paolo Masi is currently at the helm as both owner and winemaker. He is known for producing wines in a modern, fruit-driven style. The grapes used for the wines are traditional: primarily Sangiovese for the reds, complemented by Colorino, and Trebbiano Toscano for the whites. Masi works with purchased grapes from Rufina and grape growers he knows very well. He advises on cultivation methods to achieve the highest quality.
The Poggerissi Bianco Toscana is a remarkably youthful, accessible wine that's a pleasure to drink. The grapes come from the region's most suitable white wine locations. Controlled fermentation at cool temperatures brings out this delightful freshness. It has a straw-yellow color in the glass with occasional greenish reflections. This white wine from Renzo Masi has a wonderfully refreshing aroma of lime and pit fruit. It has a very light palate with delicate fruit notes, a light body, and pleasant acidity. These flavors continue into a rounded finish. A lovely summery Italian wine that pairs beautifully with grilled fish or tapas.
