Portuguese wines from Quinta de Chocapalha

Quinta de Chocapalha is located north of Lisbon, near the village of Aldeia Galega da Merceana. Just an hour's drive from Lisbon, you can enjoy the hospitality of this winery. Alice and Paulo still run Quinta de Chocapalha, but they have now been joined by their daughters. Andrea Tavares and Sandra Tavares are each responsible for export and wine production.

The wines of Quinta de Chocapalha

Quinta de Chocapalha's vineyards encompass a whopping 45 hectares, all located in the DO Minho Regional Lisboa wine region. A striking feature of vineyards in Portugal, and therefore also of Quinta de Chocapalha, is the presence of local grape varieties. Names like Arinto, Verdelho, Castelão, and Touriga Franca may sound rather unfamiliar. However, you'll never forget them after a sip of one of Quinta de Chocapalha's wines.
