Menade Winery is a high-flyer on the Iberian Peninsula. They produce phenomenal wines that are attracting a growing number of consumers. The winery was revived in 2005 and has been an unparalleled success since its re-establishment. At the helm is the Sanz family. Brothers Richard and Marco, along with Alejandra, represent the sixth generation. So, there's plenty of expertise in-house. The vineyards of Menade

Menade is located in the heart of the Rueda region, just south of Vallolodid. Forty years ago, this was a fallow, dry, and impoverished area. Winemaking was completely unheard of here. However, pioneer Marqués de Riscal saw potential in this region and began planting Verdejo grapes in the early 1980s. Many other wineries followed suit, with varying degrees of success. Verdejo wines are now more popular than ever, and Menade, among others, is one of the region's gems. The Netherlands and Belgium, in particular, are major markets for Verdejo wines.

Menade makes the best Verdejo wines

In the Rueda region, Verdejo is the undisputed queen. However, in recent decades, there has been considerable experimentation with other grapes. For example, the Menade winery has successfully introduced Sauvignon Blanc to its vineyards—just look at the magnificent Menade Sauvignon Ecologico. However, its Verdejo wines continue to amaze both friends and foes, as evidenced by the sales success of Menade Nosso Verdejo Natural.
