The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

A wine full of life and color—that's how we can briefly describe this sweet Sauvignon Blanc. It's like a candy you used to get as a child. A refreshing wine with fine acidity, made entirely from top-quality Sauvignon Blanc grapes.

Since the late nineteenth century, the Luzon winery has been producing wines in sun-drenched Jumilla in southern Spain. This makes them one of the oldest wineries in the region. They own thousands of hectares around Jumilla, where the subsoil consists primarily of limestone and marble. The temperature differences between day and night are considerable, but therefore also very suitable for grape cultivation. This concentrates the grapes and gives them a pleasant acidity. The original owner of the winery was a Spanish army doctor who returned to his native Jumilla after his military service in 1916. He founded the Luzon winery there, which he later bequeathed to his daughter. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are grown in Los Cerrilares in Jumilla, where they enjoy an excellent continental climate. The grapes are harvested by hand in late September. A single bunch per vine is left to shrivel into raisins. This ensures a high concentration of flavors. The grapes are then taken to the winery where they are destemmed and gently pressed. The juice then ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels where it ages for 8 to 10 months.

After the long wait, we were rewarded with a straw-yellow Sauvignon Blanc. Immediately after pouring, an intensely aromatic aroma is released. Mango, peach, grapefruit, and orange peel are complemented by notes of honey and toast. The palate is delightfully sweet with fresh acidity and vibrant fruit. Thanks to the oak aging, subtle oak notes emerge. A perfect wine to pair with a delicious dessert.
