Buy or order Langlois wine

Sparkling wines from the Loire? Many wine connoisseurs will be skeptical, but it's certainly possible. It was Edouard Langlois who founded the eponymous winery in 1885. He saw the potential of the region on both sides of the mighty Loire River. However, he decided to focus on sparkling wines. This proved to be a bull's-eye; few producers in this region produced sparkling wines. For nearly a century, Langlois produced fine wines on a small scale. In 1973, the crowning achievement came. The winery was acquired by Maison Bollinger, and from then on, Langlois became a major winery, the envy of Loire winegrowers.

The winery was acquired by Maison Bollinger, and from then on, Langlois became a major winery, the envy of Loire winegrowers.

The best Loire wines are from Langlois

With the acquisition by Maison Bollinger, Château Langlois's fortunes suddenly took off. Production shifted from focusing solely on sparkling wines to still wines. Furthermore, significant investments were made in the vineyards. As a result, Château Langlois currently owns an impressive 89 hectares of vineyards, spread across three leading regions: Saumur, Saumur-Champigny, and Sancerre.

The sparkling wines of Chateau Langlois

This is where it all began: the sparkling wines of the Loire. Langlois is still renowned for this to this day. For example, the Langlois Cremant de Loire wines remain a resounding success. It's a sparkling wine made in the same way as the famous champagne, with a second fermentation in the bottle and the iconic champagne cork. This "Champagne from the Loire" is one of Langlois's best-selling wines, and for good reason.

The Langlois wines from the Loire

Besides sparkling wines, Langlois has also started focusing on still wines. Langlois has a fine wine from every well-known region in the Loire Valley. How about the Domaine Langlois Sancerre? Or perhaps the Domaine Langlois Pouilly Fume? Château Langlois's flagship wine is undoubtedly the Château de Thauvenay Sancerre. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes come from specially selected vineyards with abundant limestone and flint soils. The vineyard is only 18 hectares, so be quick.
