The most commonly used grape is Chardonnay, and this Chablis wine is made entirely from this grape. Mont Du Milieu is one of the most sought-after Chablis 1er Cru appellations and produces rich, steely wines.

The ideal soil structure for Mont de Milieu

The story of La Chablisienne begins in 1923, when several winegrowers joined forces to overcome the economic difficulties of the time and created a cooperative cellar in the heart of the Chablis vineyard in Burgundy. Until the mid-1950s, the members delivered their production to La Chablisienne, which then handled the blends and sold primarily to wholesalers. La Chablisienne then decided to harvest the grapes as must, a characteristic that would become the hallmark of the house and allow for total control over the winemaking process. The result is high-quality wines that are highly sought after both nationally and internationally. The vines are planted on Kimmeridgian and clay-limestone soils. The vines average 25 years of age and are located in a premier cru vineyard on the right bank of the Serein River in the commune of Chablis-en-Fleys. The grapes are carefully harvested, with quality as the top priority. Fermentation and malolactic fermentation take place in both stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. A textbook example of classic, high-quality Chablis. It's a full-bodied white wine with a light golden yellow color. The aroma is floral, mineral, and above all, fresh. It has a beautiful, expansive, and delicately mineral palate with notes of ripe yellow fruit. Incredibly refreshing and with a long finish. The Chablis 1 ER Mont de Milieu is ripe, beautifully developed, and has plenty of aging potential.
