Those who crave exceptional and special wines will be delighted with this successful wine from the Korsic winery. Certainly not your everyday glass of wine, but a white wine bursting with spectacle. Hailing from the far northeast of Italy, we're also dealing with a very unusual production site. The Korsic Malvasia boasts a uniquely aromatic bouquet. Thanks to the amount of granite, the minerals are also very evident in this white wine. With a finish bursting with citrus, grapefruit, and lychee, we can call it a very successful wine.
The Italian wines of Korsic
For the observant observer, the Korsic family has little to do with Italy, even though they have been making Italian wine for generations. For this winery, we travel to Friuli, an Italian region in the far northeast of the country. More precisely, to the Collio subregion. This hilly area lies in both Italy and neighboring Slovenia. The culture of both countries is therefore clearly present in the region and in Korsic's wines. Korsic's vineyards have been nestled in the beautiful Collio region for generations. Located in the far northeastern corner of the country, you can literally see the Italian-Slovenian border. Every year, the finest Korsic wines leave the prestigious cellars of San Floriano. The use of distinctive grape varieties is unique. While Chardonnay also grows abundantly in this region, Korsic's vineyards are primarily inundated with local favorites like Friulano and Ribolla.
