The 2023 vintage in Collio is rated as above average to excellent with a score of 89. The wines are early maturing and therefore very approachable at a young age.

For this beautiful Korsic Friulano wine, we must travel to the Collio region of Friuli, in the province of Gorizia. Gentle hills planted with vines, right on the border between Italy and Slovenia. This location boasts an ideal microclimate, very favorable for the production of quality white wines. This Friulano is a prime example. Warm fruity notes combine with light acidity to create an Italian explosion of flavor.

Italian wines from Korsic

For many generations, the Korsic family has cultivated vineyards in the Collio region, located in the northeasternmost part of Italy, bordering Slovenia. The winery is situated in the picturesque hilltop village of San Floriano, overlooking the rolling hills of Collio to the south and the Alps to the north. The warm currents of the Adriatic Sea keep the grapes dry, while the Julian Alps to the north protect them from cold currents and rains, along with the unique fossilized soils. In late September, the Friulano grapes are selected and harvested entirely by hand. The grapes are transported in boxes to the winery. Fermentation takes place in the cellar at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in stainless steel vats with its own yeast. The wine is bottled and then rested for another two months. And then it's time to enjoy this Italian gem.

The Korsic Friulano presents itself with a beautiful, intense straw yellow color in the glass. The aroma is pleasant and intense, with fruity notes of apple, citrusy hints of lime, and floral notes of jasmine and acacia. A wonderfully full-bodied palate with good minerality.
