Doppio Passo wines are produced by the leading winery Botter. This family-owned company, founded in 1928 by Carlo Botter, is located in northern Italy, about 30 kilometers from Venice. Initially, the winery focused primarily on vineyards in northern Italy. However, Carlo, and his sons Enzo and Arnaldo, eventually recognized the potential of southern vineyards in areas like Molise, Abruzzo, and most importantly, Puglia.

The wines from Puglia

When Botter expanded its operations to Puglia, the company's growth accelerated. Over the past twenty years, a growing number of wineries have discovered Puglia's potential. Hundreds of successful wines are produced in "the heel of the boot." Botter produces its acclaimed Doppio Passo wines in Salento. Botter's total production exceeds 53 million bottles, 52 million of which are exported. This makes the winery one of the largest producers of Italian wines.

Botter Winery produces the much-loved Doppio Passo wines in Puglia. These friendly and pleasant wines, popular with everyone, have proven to be a hit. The Doppio Passo Primitivo, in particular, has proven to be a crowd-pleaser in recent years. It's the best-selling Primitivo in this price range, partly due to its soft yet robust character. However, the Doppio Negroamaro and the white Fiano are also fine Italian wines worth trying.
