A stone's throw from the meandering Loire River, about a 45-minute drive northeast of Bourges, lies the town of Bué. It might not ring a bell for the average wine drinker. The Sancerre wines of Domaine Salmon

Salmon is no novice in the Loire Valley. For six generations, they've impressed not only consumers but also all the other wineries in the region. Domaine Salmon is truly a household name. They specialize in Sancerre wines and own no less than 20 hectares of beautiful vineyards within the region's borders. The Pouilly Fume wine from Domaine Salmon

A fifteen-minute drive from the town of Bué, on the other side of the Loire River, you'll find the village of Pouilly-sur-Loire. This village is known for another successful Loire Valley wine, Pouilly Fume. In recent years, Domaine Salmon has also acquired a small vineyard here. Domaine Salmon has planted only 3.25 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc. Production of its Pouilly Fume, Clos des Criots, is therefore incredibly low. However, the flavor of Clos des Criots Pouilly Fume is truly heavenly. A truly excellent Pouilly Fume that receives high praise from wine connoisseurs.
