What a wine! Intense, petrol, soft, sweet, round. This seems like an excellent alternative to Sauternes / sweet Riesling.
Wow, wow, wow. A dessert wine to fall in love with. The crowning achievement of 80 years of Delheim winery, which first saw the light of day in 1938. From the early 1960s, Delheim became a serious winery, internationally acclaimed. Delheim is particularly revered for its Chenin Blanc and Pinotage, but the other grape varieties are also worth exploring. Especially this Riesling, which is rarely planted in South Africa. Delheim Edelspatz Noble Late Harvest Riesling is therefore a truly unique wine, one you will thoroughly enjoy.
The craftsmanship of Delheim
The Riesling grapes were planted in 1984 in the Office Riesling vineyard, a special, demarcated vineyard on the northeastern slope of the Simonsberg mountain. Excellent for Riesling grapes! Because the vines are already very old, Delheim Edelspatz Noble Late Harvest Riesling develops a remarkably intense flavor. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are crushed and cold fermented. Delheim Edelspatz Noble Late Harvest Riesling then matures on its own yeast for several months, adding even more depth to this dessert wine.
