Château d’Astros Aventure Rosé 2025 IGP Var, France
Château d’Astros Aventure Rosé 2025 is a fresh, expressive rosé from Provence, made from Grenache, Cinsault, and Caladoc. This IGP Var rosé is all about lightness, fruit, and suppleness, with white stone fruit, exotic notes, and a fresh, saline finish that is perfect for sunny days.
Vineyards and region
Château d’Astros is located in the heart of the Var, in Provence.
Location / Origin: The wine comes from IGP Var, a region in Provence where Mediterranean grape varieties receive plenty of sun while benefiting from refreshing wind influences.
Vineyard area: The estate has 80 hectares of vineyards within a larger nature reserve. This scale allows Château d’Astros to work with different grape varieties and plots.
Soil: The estate has both alluvial soils along the Argens and drier clay-limestone soils. The alluvial parts produce light, fruity, and fresh wines, while clay-limestone contributes to aromatic concentration and extra depth.
Climate & Influences: The 2025 vintage saw regular spring rains, a warm summer without extreme heat, and cool nights. This allowed the grapes to ripen gradually while retaining freshness and aromatic precision.
Vinification and aging
This rosé is made with an emphasis on fruit, freshness, and a smooth, elegant structure.
Harvest & Selection: The 2025 harvest took place over 28 days, under calm and healthy conditions. This spread allowed the grapes to be picked at the optimal moment.
Vinification Style: At Château d’Astros, a gentle, fruit-focused approach is central. For rosé, the coolness during harvest helps to preserve aromas, freshness, and the light color beautifully.
Grape composition
The blend combines classic Provence grapes with Caladoc for extra color, fruit, and structure.
Grenache – IGP Var: Grenache gives the wine its ripe fruit, soft roundness, and Mediterranean charm.
Cinsault – IGP Var: Cinsault brings lightness, freshness, and a refined red fruit expression to the blend.
Caladoc – IGP Var: Caladoc is a cross between Grenache and Malbec, adding color, juiciness, and spicy fruit depth.
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
Light salmon pink in the glass, with aromas of white peach, exotic fruit, citrus zest, and a delicate spicy note. The palate is broad and silky, with juicy fruit, fresh acidity, and an elegant, precise finish. A rosé with enough freshness for the terrace and enough roundness for the dinner table.
Serving temperature: Serve at 8–10 °C, so that the white stone fruit, citrus freshness, and smooth structure remain beautifully balanced.
Dishes: Delicious with salads with grilled vegetables, grilled fish, shrimp, Provençal chicken, light pastas, charcuterie boards, or Mediterranean dishes with delicate herbs.
