Salentein's wines originally have a Dutch flavor. Former owner Meindert Pon decided years ago to move to Argentina and turn his passion—wines—into his work! He gathered a team of people around him to help him produce fine wines and also purchased vineyards. The team he assembled consisted entirely of local people, creating good employment opportunities for the area where he was based. Sadly, Meindert passed away a few years ago, but he had clearly stated that local people should continue to work at Bodega Salentein!

What a suppleness the Sauvignon from Salentein has

Salentein's Sauvignon Blanc presented a challenge for Meindert Pon. He wanted to create a vibrant white wine with a Sancerre-like style. This required him to find a cool climate, as Sauvignon Blanc grapes thrive in cool climates. A vineyard in Tunuyan, Mendoza, was offered, and it proved to be a fantastic offer. Here, Sauvignon Blanc grapes grow at an altitude of 1300 meters, and the soil is rich in power and suppleness, which is evident in Bodegas Salentein's Sauvignon Blanc wines. During the harvest, a strict selection process is carried out to determine which grapes are suitable for this white wine. This allows Salentein to produce a near-perfect white wine.

The aroma and taste of the Salentein Sauvignon Blanc

The first thing you notice about this Sauvignon Blanc from Bodegas Salentein is its intense and ripe aromas. Pear, fig, and citrus aromas complemented by beautiful spicy notes of boxwood, thyme, and white pepper. On the palate, the Salentein Sauvignon Blanc is wonderfully vibrant and fresh, with rich notes of citrus fruit. A light spiciness is also detectable in this delicious wine. The long, refreshing finish gives this wonderful white Salentein wine an extra-long and beautiful boost. What a superb wine!
