Baron Fuenté was founded in 1967 by Gabriel Baron and his Spanish wife, Dolores Fuentes. At the time, they started with just one hectare of vineyards, a gift from Gabriel's father in honor of their wedding. Today, the Champagne house owns fifty hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are located in the commune of Charly-sur-Marne and occupy the region's best plots, nestled on the slopes overlooking the Marne River. The vineyards are planted with the traditional grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay.
On the nose, this Champagne Baron Fuenten Grande Reserve Brut is full and complex, with abundant notes of apple, pear, and peach, as well as toast, roasted nuts, and brioche. The palate is smooth and rounded, with a very soft mousse and plenty of fruit. A truly exceptional champagne, a champagne for connoisseurs, as it is robust and powerful.
This Champagne is excellent as an aperitif and a special occasion wine. Serve it with oysters or smoked salmon. This extra Brut Grande Reserve is ideal as an aperitif for the connoisseur who appreciates the pure quality of the Grand Réserve.
