The white grape variety Roussanne is quite rare worldwide – making Thelema Mountain White an exceptional white wine. The blend of Viognier, Chardonnay, and Roussanne offers aromas of ripe peach and apple, and a long, creamy finish. The Roussanne grape produces wines with a fairly high acidity and floral bouquet.

The phoenix, or firebird, often depicted with scarlet and gold plumage, is an ancient mythological creature that has appeared in various cultures as a symbol of rebirth, immortality, and renewal. Thelema is a prime illustration of South Africa's recent wine renaissance. Gyles and Barbara Webb's beautiful farm is located in the Helshoogte Pass, nestled in the southern folds of the Simonsberg Mountains in the Stellenbosch region, and houses an exceptionally efficient, modern cellar. In July 1983, the McLean Family Trust purchased the old Thelema fruit farm. This acquisition marked the culmination of a long search by Gyles and Barbara Webb for that rare location where exceptional wines could be made, for this was their sole purpose. Five years later, a winery was completed, and almost immediately, his wines were among the best the country had to offer. Gyles's winemaking was influenced by visits to Tuscany, Bordeaux, and California. Gyles Webb, a former accountant turned winemaker with vision and flair, helped Thelema grow from rickety orchards into a South African success story. The McLean family and winemaker Gyles Webb strive to produce top-quality wines. He combines techniques and experience from both the Old World and the New World.

Delightful aromas of creamy, golden apple and ripe peach, along with a hint of citrus, flow from the glass. The Thelema Mountain White is velvety and smooth on the palate, with a long, creamy finish. The blend of Roussanne, Chardonnay, and Viognier creates a truly unique blend—just like the Thelema you know and love.
