Vanita Pinot Grigio IGP Terre d’Abruzzo is a fresh, medium-bodied white wine from the Fantini Group in Abruzzo. The wine comes from carefully selected, north-facing vineyards in Crecchio, in the province of Chieti. The combination of freshness, ripe fruit, herbal notes, and a short sur lie maturation gives this Pinot Grigio more structure than one might expect at first glance.
This Pinot Grigio comes from Abruzzo, on the Adriatic side of Italy.
Location / Origin: The grapes come from Crecchio, in the province of Chieti. This part of Abruzzo is close to the Adriatic coast and benefits from a cool microclimate.
Aspect: The vineyards are north-facing. This helps to maintain freshness and aromatic tension in the grapes.
Climate & Influences: Abruzzo benefits from cool winds from the Apennines and sea breezes from the Adriatic Sea. This combination provides ripe fruit, but also lively acidity.
Soil: The region features a mix of soils, with marl, clay, sand, and limestone in the hilly zones, and closer to the coast, also gravel and alluvial deposits.
The vinification is focused on freshness, aromatic precision, and extra texture.
Fermentation: The clear must is fermented at a controlled temperature of 12–14 °C. This cool fermentation helps to preserve the fresh aromas of citrus, peach, and grapefruit.
Maturation: After fermentation, the wine matures for approximately 3–5 months sur lie. This provides more structure, complexity, and a slightly fuller mouthfeel.
Style: The wine remains fresh and elegant, but the aging on the fine lees gives it just a bit more depth than a very simple Pinot Grigio.
Alcohol percentage: With 11.5% alcohol, this white wine remains light-footed and drinkable, with enough body for the dinner table.
This wine is made from 100% Pinot Grigio.
Pinot Grigio – Abruzzo: Pinot Grigio gives this wine its straw-yellow color, fresh citrus, peach, grapefruit, and soft herbal notes. Due to the microclimate in Crecchio, the wine remains fresh, while the sur lie maturation adds extra roundness.
