The Chardonnay clusters are raised with great love. The sun plays a part in this because the slopes where the Chardonnay clusters grow have a southern exposure. But thanks to a great deal of attention from the Reveur winemaker, the clusters become full and very complex. Only when the harvest has reached ideal ripeness are the clusters partially harvested by hand. This always takes place in the early morning to protect the harvest from oxidation and bruising during transport to Reveur. Here, the Chardonnay clusters undergo a gentle pressing, and the golden juice then spends no fewer than several months in oak barrels. This period of wood aging ensures that this Grande Reserve Chardonnay lives up to its name.
When we open the bottle of Grande Reserve Chardonnay and close our eyes, we know for sure: this wine will be a wonderful dream. It is highly aromatic and immediately gives us powerful scents of vanilla, peach, and cedar wood. In the glass, it colors a beautiful ocher yellow with a golden shimmer. With our nose to the glass, this white wine gives us impressions of tropical fruit, vanilla, peach, and creamy apricot. In the mouth, it is a feast; the tongue is caressed by a rich structure of yellow fruit, accompanied by vanilla and spices. Against the cheeks, there is a hint of cedar and room for yellow cream. The finish is long and very well-balanced with a fresh element. The balance between powerful Chardonnay tones and fresh elements is perfect. This is a dream that may last a long time.
