From vineyard to bottle

The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

The Mount Mary Vineyard Pinot Noir is an elegant and complex red wine from Australia's renowned Yarra Valley . It comes from the iconic Mount Mary family winery, considered one of Australia's pioneers of fine wine since the 1970s. This wine is a textbook example of refined cool-climate Pinot Noir , with an unparalleled balance of finesse, depth, and aromatic intensity.

Mount Mary 's vineyards are located in the heart of the Yarra Valley , east of Melbourne. This area is known for its cool climate, ideal for growing Pinot Noir. The soils are rich in loam and clay with volcanic rock, contributing to the wine's fine structure and aromatic complexity.

The Pinot Noir is harvested by hand and rigorously selected for ripeness and quality. Vinification is traditional and restrained, with cold maceration before fermentation, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and aging in French oak barrels (a small portion of which are new). Everything is focused on purity and terroir expression, without over-extraction or heavy oak influences.

This Pinot Noir is an excellent accompaniment to veal, duck, grilled mushrooms, or refined vegetarian dishes . Serve slightly chilled at 14-16°C to fully appreciate its elegance and aromatic precision.

The Mount Mary Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021 is a benchmark for Australian Pinot: elegant, pure, and with impressive aging potential. A wine that captivates both connoisseurs and enthusiasts with its understated power and refinement.
