Miraval Rosé 2025 is one of the most famous Provence rosés in the world, crafted with the precision of Famille Perrin, the award-winning wine family behind Château de Beaucastel. The 2025 harvest yielded smaller, concentrated berries with great aromatic intensity and the fresh signature that makes Miraval so beloved. Pale pink, refined, and saline-fresh, with white fruit, citrus, and floral notes in a stylish, gastronomic rosé.
Miraval comes from the heart of Provence, where altitude, limestone soils, and cool nights are essential for the tension in the wine.
Location / Origin: The grapes come from vineyards near Correns, just north of Brignoles, within the A.O.P Côtes de Provence. This is a classic Provençal area where rosé is all about refinement, freshness, and a light color.
Altitude: The vineyards are partially terraced, at an average altitude of 350 meters. This location helps ensure even ripening and gives the wine its fresh, precise character.
Soil: The vineyards consist of clay and limestone. Clay helps retain moisture during warm periods, while limestone provides drainage and a subtle mineral tension.
Climate & Influences: The climate is cool for this part of Provence, with large temperature fluctuations between day and night. This allows the grapes to retain freshness, even when the days bring plenty of sun and ripeness.
Vineyard & Harvest: The 2025 vintage experienced heat spikes in August, early ripening, and smaller berries than average. This provides extra concentration and aromatic expression, while maintaining the fresh Provençal profile.
Vinification is precise and focused on color, freshness, and texture.
Harvest & Selection: The grapes are harvested by hand in the morning and then sorted twice. Picking early helps better preserve natural freshness before the grapes enter the cellar.
Pressing & Fermentation: Most of the cuvée is directly pressed, while a portion is made using the saignée method. What is saignée? Saignée is a method where a portion of the juice is bled off after brief skin contact to enhance color, structure, and aromatic depth.
Aging / Wood treatment: 95% of the wine ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and 5% in barrels with bâtonnage. Bâtonnage means that the fine yeast cells are stirred, which gives the rosé extra roundness and texture without losing the fresh fruit expression.
The blend consists of 4 grape varieties that together provide elegance, fruit, structure, and aromatic lift.
Cinsault – Provence: Cinsault lends the blend finesse, juicy red fruit, and a light, elegant structure.
Grenache – Provence: Grenache brings roundness, soft fruitiness, and the sunny charm often found in good Provence rosé.
Syrah – Provence: Syrah adds subtle spiciness, color, and extra structure to the blend.
Rolle – Provence: Rolle, also known as Vermentino, provides fresh citrus, floral tension, and a refined aromatic lift.
