Château Minuty 281 is the gastronomic prestige rosé from Minuty, created as a tribute to the Mediterranean and the most refined side of Côtes de Provence. Why 281? The name refers to Pantone 281, the deep shade of blue on the neck of the bottle that nods to the nearby sea. This rosé is made for special moments, with a light color, floral finesse, exotic fruit, saline tension, and a long, elegant finish.
Château Minuty 281 comes from the AOP Côtes de Provence, close to the Mediterranean Sea.
Location / Origin: The grapes come from selected estate plots within the AOP Côtes de Provence. The cuvée is strongly connected to the maritime location of Château Minuty, where the proximity to the Mediterranean Sea clearly influences the wine's style.
Maritime influence: The vineyards are located on the Saint-Tropez peninsula, with plots around Gassin and Ramatuelle. The sea breeze helps keep the grapes fresh and contributes to the delicate, saline expression of this rosé.
Surface area: Château Minuty owns over 200 hectares of vineyards. Around Gassin, 65 hectares lie on limestone soils; near Ramatuelle, 15 hectares overlook the bay of Pampelonne; and other plots are located on sand and clay in Le Cannet-des-Maures and Vidauban.
Vineyard & Harvest: The grapes for 281 come from HVE-certified plots and are harvested by hand. This careful picking suits a rosé where finesse, pure juice, and aromatic precision are central.
Selection: This cuvée is made using a selection of the estate's best Grenache grapes. At Minuty, Grenache plays a leading role in rosé because the grape can provide aromatic intensity, softness, and elegance.
The vinification focuses on a pale color, pure aromas, and a fresh, saline structure.
Harvest & Selection: The grapes are hand-picked and selected from the estate's best HVE plots. The winemaking then uses free-run juice, the juice that is released naturally from the grapes without heavy pressing.
Fermentation: Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a low temperature. What does cold fermentation do? It helps to clearly preserve floral notes, exotic fruit, and fresh tension.
Malolactic conversion: No malolactic fermentation is applied. As a result, the wine remains crisp, fresh, and energetic, with a lively citrus line.
Alcohol percentage: At 12.5% alcohol, Château Minuty 281 remains elegant and drinkable, with enough structure for fine dining and richer dishes.
The current producer technical sheet mentions a blend of Grenache and Syrah.
85% Grenache – Côtes de Provence: Grenache forms the elegant base of the wine and provides soft red fruit, floral notes, roundness, and a silky structure.
15% Syrah – Côtes de Provence: Syrah adds extra tension, subtle spiciness, and structure to the blend, giving the wine more depth than a simple terrace rosé.
