This top-quality wine is made from Grenache Gris and Macabeo grapes, grown on incredibly old vines, up to 45 years old. The old vineyard is located in the beautiful Côtes des Catalanes region of southern France. The soil structure is unique and contains a treasure trove of nutrients for white grape varieties. The perfect climate contributes to the even maturation of the grapes, which are harvested by hand. All bunches for this Château Lauriga Soleil Blanc are rigorously selected, ensuring the harvest is exceptionally pure. After the first pressing, this white wine is aged in oak for a full ten months. The oak has a profound influence on the wine, resulting in a very powerful white wine with a crystal-clear finish.
But that was already apparent when we tasted this wine. It has a light yellow color with green highlights. The aroma is intense and original, with toasted notes and aromas of peach and pear. The taste is full and powerful, and we detected a hint of licorice on the palate. The Château Lauriga Soleil Blanc displays a lovely freshness and a rich structure with plenty of ripe fruit, vanilla, and roasted nuts.
