The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

The Apostelhoeve Viognier marks a significant moment for Dutch viticulture, as it is the first Viognier wine to be produced here. The vineyard is situated on the beautiful southern slopes of the Jeker Valley in Maastricht. The Apostelhoeve is the oldest and one of the largest wineries in the Netherlands, and with this superb Viognier, they once again demonstrate their leadership in producing quality wines. They have been producing top-notch house wines here since 1970, building on a long tradition dating back to Roman times.

What makes this Viognier special is not only its origins in one of the Netherlands' most beautiful wine regions, but also the meticulous way each step of the winemaking process is managed to allow the unique characteristics of the Viognier grape to shine. De Apostelhoeve understands like no other how to utilize the specific climatic conditions and soil of South Limburg to create wines that stand out both nationally and internationally. This exceptional Viognier stands out for its refined aromas of citrus, white peach, and a hint of wood, which together create a balanced blend that captivates the senses. Fermentation, partly in stainless steel vats and partly in new Seguin-Moreau oak barrels, followed by weekly batonnage, creates the wine's complexity and impressive finish. These techniques combine the best of modern winemaking with traditional craftsmanship, resulting in vibrant freshness and perfect balance in the Apostelhoeve Viognier.

The Apostelhoeve Viognier is a celebration of Dutch winemaking excellence and an example of how good Dutch wines can be. It pairs perfectly with a wide variety of dishes, from chicken salads to grilled fish and shellfish. It even complements a spicy Thai curry beautifully. It embodies the dedication and passion of the Apostelhoeve team and offers a superb tasting experience that will set the standard for Dutch wines in the future. With its unique character and delicious flavor, the Apostelhoeve Viognier is highly recommended for any wine lover.
