Salentein Sparkling Cuvée Exceptionelle Brut—where do we begin? The enthusiasm for this delicious sparkling wine is so overwhelming that we could go on and on about it. This sparkling wine is made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The latter, Pinot Noir, gives it a light pink hue, making it look like a rosé. This Argentinian sparkling wine is also a delight to taste; the grape blend gives it a distinctly champagne-like flavor. The method used to create the bubbles is also based on the traditional Champagne method, the Methode Traditionel.

Can Champagne be compared to this bubble from Salentein?

The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are grown in Mendoza, or more precisely, in the Valle de Uco. The altitude at which the grapes are planted, 1200 meters, allows them to optimally utilize the climate. During the day, they enjoy warm sunshine, while in the evenings, they enjoy the fresh breeze that flows down the hills. The soil is also crucial. Its coarse, pebbly structure makes it highly permeable, allowing it to retain moisture optimally, ensuring the plants have a constant supply of nutrients. The grapes for this Salentein Sparkling Cuvée Exceptionelle are carefully selected and then harvested by hand. The grapes are then transported to the winery in small crates to prevent damage during transport.

What does this Cuvée Exceptionnelle Brut Rosé taste like?

It's definitely time to uncork this celebratory bottle. Upon pouring, we see the expected light pink color emerge. The mousse is very refined with numerous small bubbles. The aroma offers delightful aromas of green apple, citrus, a light touch of red fruit, and toasted bread. The taste is wonderfully balanced. The citrus and red fruit notes harmoniously interplay with the soft mousse. A very accessible sparkling wine from the magnificent Bodega Salentein.
