Salentein had, of course, already competed with Champagne a few years ago with the Cuvée Exceptionnelle Brut. But this year, the Argentinian winery surpasses all expectations with the limited edition Blanc de Blancs. A unique bottle with a contemporary character, secretly crafted for eight years to achieve this fine quality. We know the Salentein winery from its original founder, Mr. Pon. After his career in the automotive industry, Meindert Pon founded the winery in Argentina in 1997. He wanted to combine his insights with the expertise of many professionals to create the finest wines of Argentina. He succeeded, and his life's work continues today.
The unique vineyard for this Cuvée Exceptionnelle Blanc de Blancs
For this Cuvée Exceptionnelle Blanc de Blancs, only Chardonnay grapes are grown in the Alto Valle de Uco wine region. The vineyards, called El Oasis Estate, are situated at a remarkable altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level. The vines are planted in highly nutrient-rich soil, giving the bunches considerable strength. The altitude provides abundant sunshine, providing the bunches with plenty of cooling. This cooling is crucial for bunch development, ensuring freshness and slow growth. The fresh breeze from the Andes mountains blowing through the vineyards is unique, and all of this translates into this Champagne rival! The beautiful white bottle and attractive label of the Salentein Blanc de Blancs give us great confidence in its quality.
Unique process for the Salentein Blanc de Blancs
Well, that's perfectly fine, because all the bunches are harvested by hand and rigorously selected. Only the finest bunches are used in this sparkling wine. The entire wine is aged for a full six months on the lees, making it fuller and creamier. During this crucial time, it develops its own unique character, and you can certainly taste that.
Full and very powerful this white bottle from Salentein
Chill the bottle and quickly open this sparkling wine. We immediately smell a beautiful, fresh aroma of citrus fruit with hints of green herbs. In the glass, that's where the real fun begins: a beautiful golden yellow color with soft bubbles rising to the surface. All our senses are stimulated, and we bring our noses to the glass, smelling notes of green apple, pineapple, a touch of toast, and of course, a touch of vanilla. On the palate, the soft bubbles create a wonderful sensation, with lovely flavors of yellow and citrus fruit, along with a touch of freshly baked nuts. The beautiful freshness and ripeness of this Salentein Cuvée Exceptionnelle Blanc de Blancs are exquisite. There's just one caveat: not many bottles are produced, but that's what makes it so exclusive.
