This wine is made from the Albariño grape, grown in the highest, less humid, cooler vineyards of the Terras Gauda winery. The temperature fluctuations between day and night allow the grapes to ripen slowly, developing the Albariño grape's delightful freshness and wonderful aromas.

The perfect climate for Albariño Abadia de San Campio

Bodegas Terras Gauda was founded in 1980 and is located in the DO Rías Baixas, a region known for its excellent white wines. They own the largest number of hectares and produce quality wines from the local Albariño, Loureiro, and Caíño grape varieties. Currently, Terras Gauda is the largest winery by production in the DO Rías Baixas. This wine region is located in northwestern Spain on the Atlantic Ocean. The vines are grown on beautiful slopes where they enjoy a perfect climate. The Albariño grape, in particular, thrives here, thanks to its cool, wet climate. Abadía de San Campio is produced entirely from the Albariño grape variety. The grapes are sourced from vineyards located in the Golian region, 150 meters above sea level. The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in crates, preventing premature bursting. After cold maceration before fermentation, alcoholic fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeast. After this, the wine is aged for a period of time, stabilized, and finally bottled.

What does the Terras Gauda Albariño Abadia de San Campio taste like?

The Abadia de San Campio is beautifully balanced and has delightful aromas of ripe pineapple, peach, and fresh citrus notes of lime and grapefruit. Light hints of banana and apple also emerge on the nose. This white wine stands out for its power and balance on the palate. It is juicy and delightfully fresh with a powerful yet lively palate. It is a vibrant wine thanks to the perfectly ripened grapes and has a long, fresh finish.
