The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

Californian wines go hand in hand with the beloved Chardonnay grape. It made a splash in Burgundy, but over the past century, it has spread across the globe—and with great success. Especially under the Californian sun (California is called The Sunny State for a reason), Chardonnay produces successful wines. A beloved winery—small in size, big in action—is Lapis Luna. A winery that believes in the power of nature. With a Lapis Luna wine, you have a pristine, pure wine in your hands.

Lapis Luna means "month and stone" in Latin. In this case, it refers to the moon's influence on the earth. This is clearly visible on the labels of Lapis Luna wines, where a faceless hero constantly considers the moon the center of everything. Trusting the moon and other natural conditions produces the finest wines. That is the philosophy the winemaker at Lapis Luna adheres to. This Chardonnay is a blend of Chardonnay grapes from various vineyards, including Mendocino, Potter Valley, and Ukiah Valley. This unique combination creates a special glass of wine that once again highlights the Chardonnay's potential.

After the harvest, the winemaker gets to work. She leaves nothing to chance. The juice is fermented in new French oak barrels. Then, it ages for a full five months on its own lees. This is how Lapis Luna Chardonnay develops its strength and character. Opening this Californian wine is like entering a different world. You're enveloped by soft aromas of fresh lemon, white peach, and summery nectarines. Vanilla seems to permeate every corner of the bottle. The gentle acidity is sure to bring a smile to your face.

Vintage 2023
