Cantina Tramin Kellerei has become a legend in South Tyrol in recent years. It's a cooperative where several winegrowers wanted to combine their knowledge and expertise to create a single wine. And under the leadership of winemaker Willi Stürz, Cantina Tramin Kellerei has taken a major step forward. Significant investments have been made in the winery and vineyards to elevate everything to an even higher level. This is reflected in the numerous awards Tramin has received.

The old Chardonnay vineyard of Cantina Tramin Kellerei

The old Tramin vineyards are located in southern Tyrol. Specifically, in Alto Adige, where the climate is perfect. The sun often shines long and evenly, and the fresh breeze and falling nighttime temperatures provide sufficient cooling for the grapes. The Chardonnay growing season is also long, and a total of three hundred small winegrowers work on this premium wine. Every ounce of Chardonnay is extracted to make this white wine shine.

The harvest of the Tramin Chardonnay

The vines grow in calcareous clay and gravel soils, which allows them to draw considerable strength from the soil. When ripe, they are harvested by hand and transported in small crates to Cantina Tramin Kellerei. This always takes place early in the morning to protect the Chardonnay grapes from oxidation. After pressing, this Chardonnay is aged for several months in oak barrels, making it fuller and creamier.

What does the Tramin Chardonnay taste like?

This Tramin Chardonnay is a robust young wine! The finest grapes are sourced from the vineyards of Ora, Tramin, and Egna. The color is beautiful, a rich yellow with a golden glow. Because the grapes are grown at high altitude, this Chardonnay still has a lot of freshness. The aroma of this Tramin Chardonnay is delicate with abundant fruity aromas. The taste offers notes of pineapple, pear, citrus, vanilla, and butter.
