The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

Donnafugata Lumera Rosé is a magnificent creation from Sicily that embodies the true spirit of a rosé wine. Made from carefully selected Nero d'Avola and Syrah grapes, this wine perfectly balances the power of Sicilian grapes with the elegant art of winemaking.

Donnafugata Lumera Rosé originates from vineyards with unique characteristics. The soils are composed of clay and loam, and contain a rich mix of nutrients such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, manganese, and zinc. These nutrient-rich soils provide the perfect breeding ground for grape growth. The vineyards are situated in a southwesterly position, allowing the grapes to optimally benefit from the sun and the surrounding natural environment. The Nero d'Avola and Syrah grapes for the Donnafugata Lumera Rosé are harvested and selected separately. A cold maceration process of 12-24 hours begins in the press at a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks under strict temperature control. After fermentation, the wine is aged in tanks for another two months to develop and harmonize its flavors. Finally, the wine rests in the bottle for another two months before being released, allowing it to enhance its complexity and character before being enjoyed by wine lovers worldwide.

Donnafugata Lumera Rosé 2020 captivates with its bright, vibrant pink color. Upon opening the bottle, a lush bouquet emerges, infused with the vibrant aromas of juicy wild strawberries and ripe pomegranate. The addition of subtle floral notes of violet adds a refined touch. With every sip, Lumera 2020 reveals its refreshing character and juicy texture. The vibrant fruitiness dances on the tongue, supported by a well-balanced structure. The mouthfeel is invigorating and full, while the lingering fruity notes maintain a pleasant presence on the palate.

Vintage 2023
2023 was een uitdagend maar over het algemeen goed oogstjaar voor Sicilië, vooral voor roséwijnen. Ondanks enkele hittegolven zorgden de omstandigheden voor gezonde druiven met een goede aromatische expressie.
